Vitiligo is such skin condition which treatment is a tricky matter and the completely treat vitiligo from the body system seemed a serious thread for the dermatologist. The reason is that actual causes of vitiligo are not known by anyone with certainty.

However there is a prominent view that vitiligo is the result of the disappearance of melanocytes in the skin. Now the question is that, what are the conditions due to which melanocytes destroyed.

Auto-immunity:
1. An abnormal functioning of certain nerve cells produce a toxic substance, which damage melanocytes cells.
2. An alteration of the immune system that lead to the destruction of melanocytes.
3. Self destruction of the pigmentation producing cells to some toxic products in the body system.

 Inheritance:

4. There would be a genetic defect that would make melanocytes were more likely to be destroyed.

It may be that all these causes are occur  in a patients are two or three of them. I think the knowledge about  disease is important  role for the treatment of the disease. It is not only true for the vitiligo but it general useful for all the diseases. 

Some year ago when the people are not more familiar with the skin condition vitiligo and the many patients normally in Asia realized that  there is no cure available for vitiligo. Now the general  awareness about the skin conditin vitiligo has been increase. How ever one thing is to be noted that there  are some other skin condition also that causes white spots on the skin and seem like vitiligo.
